In the end, it's what the developers say that goes.in or out of the game. I have my ideas for it (dark gems, the dragon statue in EtD was destroyed, etc.) There may be some things that make it not work like a loss of powers between some games but that's just something you have to fill in for yourself.

The developer's have only canonized two time lines. There's the original where each game progressed into the next usually due to a 'vacation' (almost every Spyro game had Spyro interrupted while on vacation to start) and the second time line which is the reboot and continues along by stopping a story short and picking up at the same spot at the beginning of the next game. I know Spyro lost and re-gained his powers a lot and some characters changed but in the end 'canon' is what the developers say it is and so far there's been two time lines according to the developers.

Well, based off what the developers said there's only two. NOTE: There are far fewer flash games and no promotional games (like the McDonald's ones) for the 'Legend of.' arc. These don't really count but all would be midquels, as they fit in with other games and don't really make up for new games themselves.ġ) The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning - this could link to Canon A, because it shows the birth of Spyro and takes him on some adventures leading from that.Ģ) The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night - This is the immediate continuation of ANB, and pretty much shatters a hope of a connecting/bridging story to Canon A as Hunter makes an appearance, which contradicts Canon A. NOTE: There are also McDonald's LCD games and some online flash games.

Essentially it is the cell phone port of Shadow Legacy but it has some changes to it that makes it more than a port. Here is the plausible way I see the order:Ģ) Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage - this follows the first game in that Spyro is taking his vacation deserved for defeating Gnasty Gnorc when he gets swept to Avalar.ģ) Spyro: Year of the Dragon - After the incidents at Avalar the dragons are preparing for the Year of the Dragon.Ĥ) Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly - The final part of the Year of the Dragon in which baby dragons get dragonflies.ĥ) Spyro: Season of Ice - Trying to take a vacation after defeating Ripto at the Dragonfly Festival, things go awry.Ħ) Spyro (The Fairy Dressing Game) - A ball is thrown in celebration of Spyro freeing all the fairies from their ice prisons.ĩ) Spyro: Ripto's Quest - Continues from Attack of the Ryhnocs because Ripto breaks free from the machine that imprisoned him in AotR.ġ1) Spyro Orange: The Cortex Conspiracy - This has to follow a Hero's Tail because in this game Spyro knows Blink but he met him in AHT.ġ2) Spyro: Shadow Legacy - Taking a vacation after defeating Ripto, things go wrong.ġ3) Spyro the Dragon (cell phone version) - this seems like a midquel of sorts, as it could tie into what happens in Shadow Legacy.
